West – Best for PUD

Jim West is announcing his candidacy for the District #1 Position on the Clark Public Utilities Board.

Energy is at the forefront of a series of issues as we step into the future. Maintaining affordability for our residents, encouraging sustainable practices that support our environment and Northwest lifestyle, and of course being competitive in attracting potential new employers or supporting existing companies that can provide good jobs are three areas where the policies of the PUD have a vital impact.

As a thirty three year resident ofClarkCounty, I’ve appreciated the commitment to excellent customer service and affordable power rates achieved by the PUD during challenging times. With a broad background in public & non profit leadership roles and board work, bringing both a consumer and business perspective my experience lends itself well to this role.

I look forward to working together with Commissioners Hanke and Barnes to build on the Utilities strengths, and navigate the increasingly complex path we’ll face in the next six years.
