Coldwell Banker Commercial Jenkins & Associates, and MAJ Development Corporation are hosting their second annual school supply drive for the Foundation for Vancouver Public Schools. Last year we were able to donate over 75 backpacks stocked with a complete set of school supplies. CBC and MAJ together have purchased a set of 75 backpacks to be filled this year with expectations for more. Our drive ends August 25th.
A list of supplies needed can be found here if you would like to order online and have them shipped to our office. We also gladly accept walk-in donations. If you have a friend who works at CBC or MAJ they would gladly pick up your donation for you.

From the Foundation for Vancouver Public Schools:
The Foundation for Vancouver Public Schools is an independent, 501(c)3 educational non-profit corporation established in 1988 to support Vancouver Public Schools (VPS).
The Foundation was the vision of Dr. Jim Parsley, the Superintendent of VPS from 1980 to 2002. Dr. Parsley saw what students came to school "without." To help meet those needs, he established the Vancouver School District Foundation, the first K-12 educational foundation in the region. What began literally as a "shoebox operation" (yes funds were literally kept in a shoe box), continues to grow in size and success because of Dr. Parsley's vision.
Today, we are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of business, community and education leaders. As an educational non-profit entity, we are able to offer financial assistance and programs for students that cannot be funded by the school district. Unlike parent groups such as PTAs and booster clubs which raise money for individual school projects, the Foundation serves all 37 district schools including those in our high-needs communities.
The Foundation is generously supported by donations from school employees, parents, students, community members and business.
